The Artist…

My name is Courtney, and creativity has always been my sanctuary. Growing up in modest circumstances, I didn't have the opportunity to indulge in trending TV shows, play video games, or go on vacations. When I wasn't exploring the outdoors, my “getaways” were wherever my imagination took me. I would draw, paint, and collect materials with the hope of crafting something incredible one day. 

 At the age of five, my grandmother introduced me to sewing, and as I matured, I harnessed this skill to create pieces that instilled a sense of confidence in me as I longed to fit in. I even transformed thrifted items into unique interpretations of name brand pieces.  Art opened countless doors for me. It paved my way to college, where I crafted award-winning fashion collections. I became the lead costume creator for the acclaimed short film "Before the Fall," and I earned a trip to Las Vegas after triumphing in the Red Bull Art of Can competition. Most importantly, it has provided me with a tranquil refuge from life’s pressures.
